“A camera is a tool for learning how to see without a camera.”
Dorothea Lange

Hi!  I’m Nancy, and I will be your photographer, editor, and marketing designer.

Lakewood, Colorado has been my home since 2014.  My Sweetpea and I are parents to two quirky cats and the occasional foster pup.  We subscribe to the work-hard/ play-hard religion.  After all, why work if you don’t take the time to enjoy life, too?  If you try to reach me on the weekends, I will happily return your call when we are done hiking, kayaking, climbing, biking, camping, snowshoeing, etc.  As often as possible, we are off traveling somewhere fun in our ’88 Vanagon named “Blueberry”.

I have carried a camera everywhere with me since long before our phones could do the same thing. When I first dipped my toes into real estate and architectural photography, I discovered that there was a whole other side to photography with its own set of rules, styles, and deadlines. It is a constant learning journey that keeps the artistic and analytical sides of me interested.

In addition to photography, volunteering has also been part of my life since I was a kid.  I work with an inspiring group of photographers and animal handlers each week to take photos of the dogs, cats, and critters at local animal shelters to help them find their forever homes.  Ask me about the colony of Townsend’s big-eared bats that my Sweetpea and I spend our summer evenings monitoring in Boulder for Open Space Mountain Parks.

There is a non-profit that is especially close to my heart - The Caleb Effect Foundation.  My sister and brother-in-law have survived the most unthinkable – suddenly losing their 2-year old son to unknown causes.  They are putting their love and energy into spreading kindness in Caleb’s name.  The significance of being nice shouldn’t be lost when we become adults.  Join us to be “Nice on the 9th” each month.

Now, you know a little bit about me.  I’d like to get to know you, too.  Send me an email or text message, or give me a call.  (Yes, it’s a 405 number – before 2014, I was an Okie.)  Looking forward to hearing from you!
